We know that when we see a green car drive by, the rest of the world (except for the colorblind) see that car as green as well. But what SHADE of green?
Well, scientists are beginning to think that we see differences in color based not on our anatomy, but on our personalities.
It’s been documented that our perception of color shifts due to our mindset, so take a look at the following colors presented and see if what you perceive matches your personality.
You might just learn something about yourself.
Take a look at this fairly neutral-looking color. How would you describe it?
There are elements of BLUE, GRAY, and GREEN in it, but which color stands out the most?
Keep your answer in mind.
Here’s that same color run through a filter to appear more green.
If you see the original image as forest greenish, that means you’re more friendly and social. You’re also optimistic.
Not bad, right?
Here’s the initial color filtered to show more of the blue characteristics.
If you tend to see the first image this way, this should appear just a little lighter than a navy blue. If this was more in line with your perception of the initial image, you’re normally a reserved person, keeping the company of a select few friends. You can get sociable when you need to, but otherwise, you keep to yourself and those closest to you.
Does that sound like you?
As you would guess, this is the image filtered to show the gray in the image.
It should appear as a cast iron shade if this is the color you default to. If this is what you see, you’re a person in conflict, either pulled in two polar opinions or not caring enough to really take a stance on things.
As a result, this could be a negative for someone trying to find their way in the world, but a big positive for people who don’t need a ton of certainty.
Let’s try it again, shall we? Here’s the starting image.
Do you see it more as PURPLE, BLUE, orWHITE?
If you see it more as a Easter-y purplish hue, it could indicate that you’re sensitive and an enthusiast of art, nature, and design.
If you see it as a more blue color, you’d see this as as baby blue.
Despite the pastel nature, seeing this color indicates that you’re strong and opinionated.
This would be the whiter version of the image. You would see this as a milky shade.
If that’s the case, congrats, you’re an optimist! You look on the bright side of things, which is an admirable characteristic.
